The Public Records Office is managed by the deputy town clerk, who maintains a library of scanned public records dating back to 1927.
We maintain custody of all birth, marriage, and death records dating back to 1630 while following Massachusetts General Laws regulating these documents.
Each year, we add about 33,000 new entries and issue more than 100,000 copies of certified records.
For women, using a married name (that’s been kept) instead of a maiden name can sometimes cause issues.
